Do you anticipate that your employee will regularly work 70 or more hours per month?

Public Safety Employees' Retirement System (PSERS)
Are you one of these employers?
  • A city or county corrections department as defined in RCW 41.37.010(12).
  • A public corrections entity as defined in RCW 41.37.010(12).
  • Public corrections entity created under RCW 39.34.030 by counties, cities not covered under chapter 41.28 RCW, or both.
Do you have a position that requires the person to meet one of these four criteria and work on a full-time basis?
  • Have completed a certified criminal justice training course and authorized to arrest, conduct criminal investigations, enforce the criminal laws of Washington state and carry a firearm as a part of the job.
  • Have the primary responsibility to ensure the custody and security of incarcerated or probationary individuals.
  • Function as a limited authority Washington Peace Officer.
  • Have the primary responsibility to supervise eligible PSERS members.
  • Primary responsibility to provide nursing care to offender and patient populations in institutions and centers operated by entities covered under RCW 41.37.010(12).
