About User Types and Contact Types

Back to Help Menu

When registering a new ERA user you will be prompted to choose a User Type and then to assign Contact Types to that User.

User Types

The User Type field tells ERA what information and processes within ERA this person can access. Employer Main Users will be registered by DRS. They are responsible for managing the other users for their organization.

Employer User

Assign this User Type to users that will access ERA. These users can only access information for the employers they are registered for. These User Types must be assigned a Contact Type of ERA Notification Contact.

Information-Only

Assign this User Type to contacts or employees who will not need to access ERA, but that the you would like to track. If this user should receive official DRS notices by email then they must be assigned a Contact Type of Notice Contact.

Contact Types

The Contact Type field tells ERA whether the user can access the ERA Message center for DRS communications, whether they should receive official DRS notices by email, and also informs DRS of what areas of responsibility this person has so that we can contact the correct person when we have questions. Select all that apply. Remember that all Employer User types must also be assigned the Main DRS Contact along with any other applicable types.
